A blend of 3 Yamhill-Carlton vineyards:
Bayliss Bower, Fairsing and Saffron Fields.
All of these vineyards were picked more than 2 weeks after the mid-harvest rains of 2013. The extra hang time allowed the fruit to develop more concentration and maturity in flavor while sugars stayed low.
At 11.8% percent alcohol this wine shows weight and ripeness while retaining freshness and restraint. It was fermented with 25% whole cluster grapes. Aged 12 months in French oak, of which 17% was new. This wine shows the more delicate and red fruited side of the YC terroir while still retaining the classic mineral and espresso notes of the region.
