This wine comes from a 5 acre vineyard situated at 1500 feet elevation beneath Underwood Mountain on the Washington side of the Columbia Gorge, directly across from Hood River. Deep volcanic soils, windy days and cold nights produce tiny Wädenswil and Pommard clone clusters with thicker skins and intense acidity.
100% whole cluster fermented. Foot trodden twice daily. Aged in neutral french oak barrels.
Aromas of red cherry and forest floor on the nose. The palate shows earthy Auxey-Duresses like minerality and a long fresh finish.
